I enjoy keeping at least one quiz on the go and recently sent off a small donation to one of the quizzes on the March list. Apparently, this particular quiz could be obtained by email, and I duly sent my email address with the donation. Over a week has elapsed and I have yet to receive the quiz.
At the same time, I posted a second donation to a different source and have, this morning, received the quiz by post.
It appears that the electronic method is not always the quickest.
I hope this is just an oversight on the part of the organisers!
The only disadvantage of that is that I would need to send another letter!!! Thereby using the cost of the stamp that I thought I was going to save on the return envelope!!!
I misunderstood, thought you had emailed off for the quiz, have you double checked it has not gone to your junk box in email?
I have contact with a few quiz setters but without knowing which it was is hard to help.
Perhaps the setter was expecting an SAE with your posted donation and doesn't realise that you want it emailing. Was there an email address in the March list and have you emailed that? Just a thought!
With regards to your posting. As you haven't stated which quiz you sent for by email, I can only assure you that with regards to the Buxton Mountain Rescue quiz which I sell, this is sent the same day on receiving notification from Paypal that payment has been received. This could be immediately if I am at my laptop but certainly within the day unless application was say after 10pm in which case it would go the following morning. Obviously I cannot speak for other quiz setters. As mamyalynne suggests, I would contact the quiz setter.
Thanks for all your suggestions. I did not mention the name of the quiz as I am not entirely sure which one it was (age is beginning to take over), and did not keep a record. I BELIEVE it was No 16 in the list - Missing Letters - as the address in Selkirk seems familiar. As you will observe, there is only a postal address given and the instruction states that an email address can be provided for return. I sent cash securely pasted to a card. Ah well! It's a good cause anyway.
Sorry Puzzle Nut, on looking up the quiz mentioned, I see what you mean now. I had mistaken what you had said, I thought, as I believe mamyalynne had that you had emailed the quiz setter for a copy, not that you had applied by post for it to be emailed. I hope you eventually receive it.
