night worker
I have worked permanent nights for the past 25 years within the public sector and my hours 28.06 work out to 3 nights a week. My employer is now wanting the night staff to work the 3 shift system of mornings, afters and nights. This is something I really don't want to do I want to stay on nights !! My hours don't even amount to day shifts so not sure how this will work. Can this be enforced and just what rights do I actually have if any. Looking forward to everyones advice and thanks in anticipation

Where the service requires the change, eg to reduce costs, increase efficiency, be more responsive and so on, the manager must then consult with staff and demonstrate that he/she has taken their needs and concerns into consideration. Where adjustments to the planned change can be made to accommodate these those changes should be made BUT where no such adjustments are possible, then the changes can go ahead.
