I contacted a solicitor on 18th April with a view to obtaining a divorce I have contacted the solicitors several times and all i'm told is the paperwork is on file on computer and waiting for solicitor to print it off. My problem is I need to have the papers served asap as my ex may be going to prison in august (hopefully) and I dont want to leave it to much longer I know it takes time for the divorce to come through that isnt an issue but after his trial I want no contact with him. The divorce will be on 5 years separation, Adultery and Unreasonable behaviour so I know i dont need his consent. Any ideas how I can put a rocket under them (so to speak)

Why not go down the court house, ask for the paperwork and do it yourself? Think of the money you will save.
get on to your solicitor. Sounds a bit odd to have been told that the paperwork is just waiting to be printed out though. Even if your solicitor was being tardy, i doubt his staff would tell you that. Are they waiting for money on account of costs, or any papers from you before they can proceed?
You do seem to have bad luck upsetspouse but the procedure to obtain a divorce can take from 3 to 6 months, do not worry about your husband going to prison for bigamy, if he does and some do not, you will not have to see him.
Your grounds only need to be irretrievable breakdown of marriage after 5 years without the consent of your husband, as the Petitioner you will first get a decree nisi (meaning unless) then just over 6 weeks later you will receive your decree absolute and you are no longer married. There should be no need to discuss the matter with your husband whom I note you do not wish to meet again, your solicitor will guide you through the process.
yes, 5 years is enough! they won't need to know about the adultery and unreasonable behaviour, so it should go through easily! it's a shame the papers haven't even been printed off and submitted, but when they are it will be simple!

have you had an explanation of the delay?
