What is the scenario?

CCTV isn't that unusual in office complexes for overall security purposes.

Cameras in the loo isn't acceptable though.

Why are you worried and what do you have to hide?
my imagination's racing
Not much detail here
however perhaps the following will help
http://www.ico.gov.uk/for_organisations/data_protection/topic_guides/cctv.aspx

generally the employer can so long as he complies with the law see above
There are cameras everywhere these days for security. If something of yours got stolen at work you would probably welcome the fact that there was a chance of finding who dun it. It is a bit emotive to say employer is spying.

How have you become aware of this, why are you bothered?
We can't help or advise, if that's what you want, unless you give a lot more info. If someone broke into your car you'd be glad they took a pic wouldn't you?
Oh I posted a photo of the chairman's car at work with a wheel clamp on it - clamped by his own employees, but he wasnt there

and he kind of went like you

we both survived

were youmaking an early dart and your boss spotted you and decided to snap the moment for evidence at a future disciplinary?
yes it is definitely lawful to take a photo in a street without asking all the people on the street whether they wish to be immortalised
yes, it's absolutely legal (as beuenchico always tells us) to take a picture of anything (with certain exceptions for example MOD property)
It is perfectly legal for anyone to take your photograph in a public place.
Bednobs....unless the MOD are the ones taking the photos......
