Divorce Fees?
4 Answers
Hi,
I recvd a letter today from a solicitor informing me that my wife has filed for divorce and they "would not need to make a claim for costs against me".
Could someone please explain what that means and advise me as to whether I should use a solicitor to reply? She's using Legal Aid and I can't afford legal representation. If I'm agreeable will I have to pay anything?
Thanks

There is no fee for responding to a divorce petition, which appears to be all that is required. (If you're happy for the divorce to go ahead you don't even need to respond): https:// www. gov. uk/ divorce/ respond- to- a- divorce- petition
