I have seen these posters put up in some parts of the capital, about UKBA and immigration. There is a website of network23.org/anti raids listed on these posters. They list all the things the UKBA cannot do, so if stopped in the street you don't have to give your name, don't have to provide ID, Passport, and can walk away without providing details, does anyone know if that's true. I have witnessed police and possibly immigration officers questioning some individuals, one incident was in a shop recently and another in a market. Are they are clamping down on possible illegal immigration, if so how can they do this if they have no rights in law. I am curious as to how this works.

Don't know, but the border agency is now being broken up into its constituent parts - the big organisation isn't working.

Interesting, I'd like to know

Common sense tells me that, if as a legal UK resident you must given your name at the very least or face consequences, why the heck does Joe Bloggs, suspect illegal not have to? And then, just to stick the boot in, be allowed to 'walk away'?

was wondering as i have seen so many of these posters stuck on bus shelters, lamp posts and various other places. I looked up the organisation who have put these posters up out of curiosity, but have no clue who they are. If a person can be stopped and searched by the police, then these posters would be inaccurate..

we're not obliged to carry ID with us, but if someone with the correct authority requests sight of your passport/Home Office papers (with good reason) I'm sure you would have to comply.

why would the police be present if not to enforce the law?
