Can't get hold of the vet. Just been given insulin pen, etc for our cat. However, I can't work out if the dial at the end of the pen. It states _1 . then _2 . etc. Not sure if dial for 2 is on the _ the number 2 or the .

Can anyone help please?

Is it smooth action or is there a detent (notchy feel) when you turn the end?

but no details on the precise meaning of the markings on the dial.

Are you able to remember anything the vet told you verbally about the consequences of underdose versus overdose?

Thank you ever so much for your help Hypognosis! We are now all sorted. It was quite uneventful after all that - I think we were more nervous than the cat......
Actually, looking at the photo, if it were me, I would line up the white dash marking with the white arrow, like so

>-

Lid in fully closed position
First dash mark = zero
Second dash mark = dose of 1
Third dash mark = dose of 2

But -Please- speak to the vet first. A half hour here or there shouldn't be critical. Your cat will be no worse than it was before you got the diagnosis but, if you overdose her, she could go 'hypo' and that's much harder to rectify.
Glad it's all sorted, thanks for letting us know it turned out okay.
