I thought wayleaves only referred to having a telegraph pole on your property..........
We've got telephone cable over the front of our house, on its way to next door. why would you object to that? Have they just done it, was it there when you bought the house?
Do we own the land above our houses- I know we don't own all the land underneath (as has arisen with fracking). but I don't know how high above ground we own.
Is the cable below the level of your gutters or below the top of your roof?

If there is a Wayleave in place I believe you are bound to the terms of it. And why do you object, these cables are presumably serving your neighbours properties?
Yes the wayleave would have been in the documents relating to the sale of the house, so you when you signed the sales documents , deeds etc, it was in there somewhere so you have agreed to it. Your fault if you didn't read all the small print. Nothing you can do now.
Check your documents. You never know, you might be entitled to an annual wayleave payment; I get a princely sum of a few hundred a year for electricity poles on the farm here . Don't look too hard; I suspect that telephone cables are laid either with the irrevocable consent of the landowner or under some statutory power.
