Or Check a trade.com - you can find a qualified person too. Have used check a trade.com for lots of different tradespersons, and they have all been excellent.

Thanks.

I phoned them and they have no record of the gas man we had in last week. He didn't give me his gas number and she did say sometimes the system is a bit temramental!!!
You need to ask to see their card and note the number.

If they are "messing about" with the gas side of the boiler, which is the case during a service, then they have to be registered.

I think you seem to be checking the stable door after the horse has bolted. If you wish you can contact your gas man again and ask for his gassafe details I suppose.
yes they do (have to be corgi registered or whatever came next)
i was told which I believe that it is unlawful for them to fiddle around without a cert.
My gas fella sports his on asking
Dont pay the bill until the proof/evidence is given you

Having said that - British Gas sent a corgi registered well pratt who was single handedly trying to get me to settle all of BG's debts in one go. 5k for a new boiler and oh they wold make such amess of the kitchen I would need a new one of those as well ....
OG if he hasnt got a cert,
she doesnt have to pay - she hasnt had what she contracted for which is a gas-cert maintenance

If the firm has sent around Doofus because they are busy or whatever they are raising money by deception....
There was a contract ?
eek Geek ?
you mean there are people going around the streets 'servicing' gas fires for nothing ?

I have to pay....I've been ripped off...
They don't have to, if you phone up some plumber in yellow pages or whatever and ask them to come service your boiler. I've had mine serviced in the past, I have no contract. Isn't that the usual situation ?
