Gas Fittings - Caravan

I had my caravan in for its annual service today and was told that the rubber gas pipes, from bottle to main distribution in the van, were beyond their date. I accept this, because the expiry date is stamped on the pipe. However, I was then told that the regulators had to be changed at the same time as the pipes. I've never heard this before - can anyone confirm or refute this please?

I think they are trying to get some £££££££££££££££££ from you, you can change the Pipe & regulator yourself Mr H. It's not a big job.

Yes caravan and bottle gas suppliers sell the pipes for a £ or two each,they sell regulators as well .But I have not seen an expiry date on regulators .
Just fit your own , very easy just pull off the old ones and push on the replacements , takes seconds.

Yeah, they wanted (as far as I was concerned) big bucksto do what I can certainly, but I really just wondered about some sort of regulation/legal requirement to change the regulators?

If you feel uncomfortable with the regulator Mr H, replace it, as you know they are not expensive, If the one you have has not given problems, leave it alone, you can check for leakage by pouring water on the connector, if it bubbles you have a leak. but you would have smelt the gaz
