Court Of Protection - Documents
Does any one know how long you have to keep CoP papers after someone's death ? My brother and I were deputies dealing with my father's affairs for several years. The CoP did not find fault with anything we did. When father died, over three years ago now, the deputyship ended and we became executors. The estate has been wound up and fully settled. The Inland Revenue are satisfied with his tax affairs. How long do we have to keep the old Court of Protection papers ? There are acres of these papers and I need the space. Can I shred them now ?
