What Date Of The Month Is Universal Credit Paid
1 Answers
hiya
im currently working part time and at the minute get a little housing benefit and wtc and ctc.
ive heard about this universal credit being rolled out and was wondering if anyone knew-
1. what date of the month its paid , is it a claimants choice or different dates due to postcodes etc or is everyone paid the same.
2. is it paid in arrears or advance?
3. what happens during the 'gap' between getting weekly/fortnightly payments.
ive trawled the interet for these answers but cant find them so was wondering if anyone who actually receives UC can help
Thanks

Its generally paid in arrears and they expect you to budget to get through the gap. As UC is only available in a small number of test areas and is not yet rolled out across the UK this may change as they learn the barriers that claimants will face. I work for an organisation that has been involved (on the fringes) of some of the pilot areas and one of the biggest challenges has been budgeting to manage the single payment of all elements.
