My niece left her husband to live with her boss taking her two children with her six years ago. He bought the house which is in his name and all the bills have been paid by him, all of which are in his name. They have now split up.
She said she can stay in the house until her children are 18 and he will have to support them. Is this true?

I'm pretty sure that as he is not the father and presumably hasn't adopted them she has no claim.
I'm pretty sure that Eccles is correct.

If the boss didn't adopt the children then he has no Parental responsibility for them.

Where does the father fit in? Does he still see the kids and does he pay maintenance to your niece?
(I mean maintenance for the children.)
I hate to say this, but he could say that she was a live-in housekeeper, and in lieu of rent,/wages, he let her live there rent free and provide for the children.
erm.....no.
I assume they are not married. In that case, she will have a very difficult job getting anything - let alone being allowed to stay there throughout the childrens' teenage years.
I'm confused with the Hes - the boss and the niece have now split up? In which case no, they are not his children (unless he adopted them) - it's their birth father's responsibility to maintain them until they are 18.
Themas has a good point - living together gives her no rights at all.
No is the short answer.

She has no claim as she hasnt contributed
the children have no claim as he hasnt taken them on ( unless he has )

but... depending on the circumstances, the council may if she is thrown out be obliged to rehouse.
