Atalanta, depends on your definition of a tax haven but as Luxembourg is part of the EU and is considered a tax haven by the likes of Amazon I would suggest your statement is not entirely true. At present member nations set their own tax regime, the final solution of the Europe state ruled by Germany is not there yet.
Gromit. Population of Switzerland 8m, population of Scotland 5.2m. I would consider Swizerland to hold 'tax haveb' status and I know for a fact that not all of those 8m are not rich by any means whatsoever.
What money would Scotland use, well might I suggest oil revenues. By the time they had run out if the Scots played their cards right then they would have something else to fund the required State.
It does of course fall down a bit because Scotland is lefty. Surprised you didnt mention that one?
