Police To Investigate Their Own Corruption Over Child Sex Ring !
This new enquiry into the corruption over the Lambeth child sex ring is to be conducted by the Police themselves. Isn't this a bit like asking the boy next to you to mark your homework ? Does anybody have much faith that the Police are capable of investigating corruption amongst their own ranks ?

Lessons have been learned, and procedures have since been put into place to prevent this sort of thing happening again.
The enquiry will also make a list of recommendations, which are non-compulsory, ie pointless.
There. I've just summarised the results, which in theory should save huge amounts of time and expense, but won't.

this has neva led to any negligent deaths as far as I can remember
Police investigation the Police doesnt fill me with joy -altho Retrocop will probably insist that it should. He will almost certainly say that there is no one better to do it.
what do people think about gving them all immunity from suit ?

Ludwig....I may have misread you earlier this afternoon, and if I have, I apologise.
But there is indeed evidence of widespread corruption, lots of it, which is what last nights Newsnight was all about. Plenty of evidence, that needs to be investigated in a manner that satisfies us that this is being taken seriously. I have yet to see Teresa reaction to last nights program, but something positive from her would be encouraging.

Ive got my own axe to grind re: police investigating police. This is obviously nowhere near what victims of child sex abuse victims go through but the 'police investigating the police' scenario is the same. I once reported a police officer for assault against myself after he nearly broke my wrist. Photographes of my injuries were taken etc and then I had a visit from someone to take a statement. he more of less said forget it as it wouldnt go anywhere. I was young at the time and dropped it. Wished Id pursued it now to see where it would have gone.
As I said, nowhere near what these victims of scum have gone through with police cover ups but I wouldnt spit on the police if they were on fire.

Chilli.....Not terribly difficult really ..... Just get someone independent to investigate this corruption, other than any of the guards themselves !

Sadly, this sort of criminal activity is present in all facets of society, just to a lesser (or greater) degree in certain professions. The Marc Dutroux case proved that.
