Does he not understand that it was heroes in 2 world wars who fought and died for freedom, so that people like him could walk the streets of Great Britain safely!

I do agree Choudary was affronted by what the band represented, however it doesn't detract from the fact that the officer shouldn't be wearing it in the first place.

What I did say was the the police force, whilst on duty, aren't allowed to wear any rubber wristbands. What that wristband supports is irrelevant.

TGT - My father is a time-served Police Officer who wore nothing other than his uniform whilst on duty. He wanted to be seen to represent the force of Law and Authority and to be utterly impartial....we didn't wear then, and wouldn't have worn now any symbols of personal affiliations or sympathies; he'd have done that whilst off-duty.

My son is a serving member of the Army.

I'm not allowed to wear certain things with my uniform or work, that goes for pretty much anyone who works.

I'm not debating every possible item a plod could be wearing. You could just be a bit less officious.
