I appear to have become a petty shoplifter over the last few weeks .I have no idea what is happening to me ,but i have been taking chocolate from my local sweetshop over the past few weeks .I have finally been caught and i am terrified .He keeps knocking at my door and is threatening to call the police .I gave him 20.00 but he says he wants more .I think i am in the middle of a breakdown ....I have just come off anti-depressants but don't think i am coping so well .My Dr does not know i have come off them after nearly a year and a half ...but i can't bear depending on them anymore .Please help me ,he is here now and saying he will call the police ...i don't know what to do ....i am shaking ...please help ...i have been through so much recently regarding abuse ...

No no excuse ...i knew i was doing it ,i would pay for my stuff and just pick up a bar of chocolate on the way out ...i could of paid for it ?

This is not the shop keeper it is your ex who is trying to cause you trouble.
Reading you post it is obvious to me that your ex is either paying or goading the shop keeper to harass you . What the shop keeper is doing is a crime , next time it happens call 999 and report that you are being threatened into handing over money. I think the crime is ;demanding money with menaces .

So,why do you mention his comments (which we only have your word for) as they have nothing to do with the fact that you stole from him?

You clearly need medical help as has been suggested many times. Despite it possibly being a waste of resources, I'd suggest (in the absence of a GP appointment) going to A&E and telling them your situation.

My ex is in the pub yes ,he is probably loving it as he is on a suspended sentence and has a restraining order on him not to come near me etc ...he only drinks in the pub in the hope of seeing me..many people have told me this.I have court with him next week again ,he is trying to get ten thousand of me for the three years he was here and paid rent .It is too much ...he still trying to control me .He has done so much to me over the years .

I stole from him yes ,i admitted that why i did it i do not know .I apologised to him ...i gave him money ..yet still he is coming to my door .

So if you ex has a restraing order and he is getting the shop keeper to harass you on his behalf that is just as much a breach of his order as if he came round himself. You need to phone the police and tell them that your ex is breaking his court order be sending someone to threaten you and demand cash!

Ok. Try to,stay calm and tell them exactly what happened and why. I don't think the situation is as serious as you think and your decision to come off anti depressants is making it seem even worse.

I am trying to stay calm ..my son has just said that tomorrow he will go and talk to him and find out how much he think i owe ...It was a few bars of chocolates.

My ex was arrested s few weeks ago for breaching the order ..he rang me several times ..have no idea where he got my number from ..but his new GF told the police it was her and it was an accident ? His sentence should have been activated yet the police say they cannot prove it was him ? He also rang me from FB ..i screenshot each and every call ...yet no proof ? ...Its a mess ........i just want him to go away ...

Thank you ..i am a bit like a zombie and have been stressing out all day ...i went to AE ...and walked out after 10mins ...my head was spinning and i just couldn't cope .I will get to see my GP on Monday .No police,no more visits ....he really put the frighteners on me .He told my kids also ..they know it is so out of character and said that i have been acting strange for a couple of weeks as all i do is sleep .They wanted to say something to me but all i do is shout ? So yes ...i need my meds back and to be weaned off them i guess .Thank you for your help ...it got me through a very frightening time ...much appreciated .I am sure he can /will call the police at some time ..it's a waiting game .

You know I doubt he will call the police and even if he does he has been demanding money with menaces so you have him on a much more serious charge. I hope your doctor will be available to see you ... make sure s/he knows it is an emergency and explain all. Good luck..

Ahhh Thank you so much ..i thought he was bullying me ...but my son stepped in and said enough now ...she has given you money and you want more ,she took chocolate and has repaid you ...now leave her alone ! ...I was shocked .....But if the police come i shall say i have paid him and he has been threatening me ...thank you ..i know i did wrong ,i appreciate some may think i am just using my illness as an excuse ...but i honestly felt nothing when i was doing it ......i gave the sweets to the kiddies who were out playing ......crazy ...

I hope you are feeling much better and that your doctor was helpful. I hope that no one unpleasant called at your door. I would find a different shop and not go past the other shop for any reason.

I have seen my GP ,she was ,as always,amazing .She has now suggested that i attend hospital for a short while as an inpatient ,she is setting the balls in motion ..i need a break so i agreed .Noone has come near me,and yes i will stay away from the shop.I have also put my house on homeswapper as i know i need to get away from here ..Many thanks for your support ,it is so very much appreciated .
