Copyright/plagiarise An Existing Idea

Hi,

I'm developing a website and I'm worried it works the same way as other sites out there.

For example, has YourMove copied RightMove, has TrustaTrader copied Checkatrade.

My point is, what's stopping me creating another RightMove or CheckaTrade, do they have any copyright on there concept.

No. Look at how many shops are in competition with each other.

You have to be careful about "passing off".
If your name is Marx, and your friend's name is Spenser, you can't set up a shop called Marx and Spenser - the similarity is too close.
