for a partner?
Attractive, GSOH, sexually compatible, etc are a given. But what else?
My last relationship ended 4 yrs ago and ive been single since. Havnt even bothered looking, if love comes along fine, if it doesnt then fine as well.
However, a close friend of mine has been on literally 100's of internet dates (hes on plenty of fish) in the last few years. He's not a bad looking bloke, did some time in the army, got a degree, something of a socialist and hates discrimination of any kind....However he isnt employed (and never will be due to illness). This appears to be a barrier to him finding a female companion. Im not currently employed either but its not an issue for me as im not advertising myself on Plenty of Fish and couldnt care less what anyone thinks about my employment status but to him its an issue (or rather, to the women who meet him its an issue)
It just appears that 'ladies' have a requirement that their dates be in employment.

1) AB ladies, is this so?
2) AB gents, what are your thoughts?
3) Is there any such thing as love or is it all a case of "whats in it for me"

Well if unemployed means hard up then yes that would be an issue for me. I'm sure many AB ladies will say that doesn't matter as long as they're honest, loving, caring, funny, yadda yadda.
A Pulse :o)
1) Sorry but for me it's a must. I wouldn't leave a partner if they lost their job though.

3) Def...I've found out along the way that I can't live with people I don't love whether the love is platonic or something more.
Most Abers seem to consider the unemployed as lazy scroungers.

Thats always been a major turn on for me in the past.
I wouldn't date anyone who was unemployed because I know that I would end up being resentful of the fact that my hard work was subsidising them.

No way, Jose!

You've got friends on here, Daisy.......x
You don't know that it's lack of a job that's the issue for certain though do you?

Mmmm, a bit close to home that one. I was with my last partner for 7 years. I had 'bits' of work where I could find it (she had NO work). Then she gained a part time job (permanent) and it all changed. Suddenly I became a layabout, despite the fact that I became a full time dad to her child, did all the houswork etc....last I heard she had a breakdown and couldnt cope......
None of those things would apply to my situation, Nailit. I just know that I would not be able to have a relationship with anyone if I thought it was me that was providing all the money. I would be very vitriolic, in response.
Imo being a stay at home parent IS a job!
Thanks DTC
PC freezing can't type much
GSOH, ability to do all the jobs round the house, decorating, cooking, etc
Is it that cold up there, Daisy?

GSOH, Cooking, Wine etc, ticks on that, Psybbs, decorating on paper and canvasses okay but less so on walls - murals were never my thing....
I would not date anyone who is unemployed but if they lost their job after it had became serious then I would stick with them and help them find another job. However if they sat around doing nothing then I am afraid I would show them the door.
