Europhiles Still Saying That The Eu Has Stopped Us Warring And Created Peace Since The World Wars??
22 Answers
I quote from an article today.
It was NATO not the EU which kept peace in Europe ( and safeguarded Eastern borders) The irrelevance of EU institutions to the critical issue of security was highlighted last week when Turkey and Germany called for warships to intercept and deter people smugglers of migrants from the Middle East.
To whom did they make the request? To NATO, the American-dominated military alliance, of which the UK were members long before we joined the EU.
Similarly, when the Polish Foreign Minister said his country's acceptance of British demands for scaling back tax credits paid to EU migrants would be conditional on getting more protection against Putins rapidly expanding army, did he call for protection to come from the "EU Rapid reaction force!"
No, they expected the UK to pay! So much for EU cooperation!

Although whether they will be strong enough now with the deteriorating situation in Syria is a good question.
This is a mad and dangerous world full of despicable regimes. We are better off united, for all the alleged sovereignty trade-offs. It's boring, but it's a fact.
In the UK we probably don't see the necessity of it as much as those on the European mainland. But I recall not so long ago there was a stream of people on here claiming that the Syrian war was nowt to do with us. The truth is now hurting

An EU Military force? It won't happen and if it did God help us. Can you imagine the ragbag of forces from some of the countries in the Eu. As someone has already said, we know who'll be running it. I think Merkel is is on her way out after the recent debacle. What frightens me is she is likely to be followed by a far right mob. Then what will happen!
New Judge has posted some superb pieces on this...
As for me Ive always said the same... in spite of not because of the eussr
the eussr will lead to "war" further down the road when individual areas want their freedom back, only way to stop it is "harmonising" and neutering all national military forces as they currently are
