What legal recourse has someone got , when a defendant fails to pay up following a County Court Judgement ?

Apply for a Warrant of Execution to send in bailiffs or if known to be employed ( not self employed) apply for an Attachment of Earnings order?
Options are outlined by Chris. There is one additional option - again dependent on the amount and that is to petition for bankruptcy. It really depends on the size of the judgement as to which option is best though.

This question is on behalf of a colleague of mine .

I believe the amount is aprrox £450

^^^ That rules out the bankruptcy option then because the debt(s) must be at least £5000 before a court will recognise a petition for bankruptcy:

and it also excludes the sheriffs ( over fife hundred I think )

but you could send in the bailiffs
