Someone i know has had her credit file altered by vodafone , because of a payment which even though she was not liable for ; they kept saying that she was . In the end it has now been sorted .

However her credit file has been adversely altered by vodafone , who keeps telling her that it is being sorted out , but she has not been sent a confirmation email by them which they promised ; so that she can show to her bank, to confirm that she is trying to fix it .

In the meantime she needs to get a loan soon , but the bank won't give the loan in the present circumstances .

What can she do , with respect to vodafone to try and sort this out quickly?

soon is a bit of problem.....

ask for a data access request to Vodaphone
this will tell her what Vodaphone has said about her
then go down the complaints route with voda phone about correcting inaccurate data
Voddaphone are under a duty to hold accurate and up to date data
and if they dont - ( ony then ) complain to the ICO

if she does it to the ICO direct they will tell her to follow the internal complaints system at Vode

If she was never in debt then it is easy
the record can be altered to show - she was never in debt

if she was in debt and cleared it by payment
she can only insist the reccord shows that she had a debt and it is now paid

hope it goes aaway
debt is a real psser - and people dont unerstand the consequences until .... later
