I don't think that is a phrase that will pop into mind when examining ones roots. It bemused me a bit, I don't think that it is racist or offensive but more pointless.

I am fat, Scottish, Mentally ill and a crazy cat lady - I have been known to laugh at jokes poking fun at the above, but only when they are actually funny and not demeaning.

I thought soaps were supposed to reflect real life? People are offensive in real life and make offensive comments. It shouldn't be sanitised to make the professionally offended happy.

Kunta Kinte was character in Roots, and thus the quip has no racist overtones at all, it is merely fitting for the humorous result.

I don't have a problem with 'more roots than Kunta Kinte' - it is wordplay.

If she had said 'more bracelets than Kunta Kinte' I could understand the outcry

I thought that as Eva admitted she had no idea what the expression meant was showing that people use phrases like this without realising the implications.

I am outraged at people getting outraged! I didnt even hear the comment and have no idea who kunta kinta was is or will be!
