Well we all know they are not and this pretty much completes the suspicion over the BBC.
IMHO no ex political person should be involved in the BBC.

I listened to a good discussion on this last week on the radio. Very balanced :-)
The criticism is a bit ironic, given Whittingdale, a Tory, had considerable clout over the BBC's future when he was culture secretary (as was only right, although of course there were many including me who thought the "clout" might turn out to be a well aimed blow)

YMb......we don't all know anything of the sort. I have heard John Humphrys give politicians on both sides of the house a hard time, on many occasions.
As Gromit has already said, I seem to remember that a certain ex-MP for Bath, a Mr, now Lord Pattern was made Chairman of the BBC when he returned from Hong Kong, so thats your theory down the Swanee then !
