Ryanair Refunds ...

... for unused flights?

Anyone know if it's possible to get a refund from Ryanair for any part of the cost of an unused flight.

A series of disasters (see CB passim) means that I've made a new booking for flights for our party for an early trip home - it certainly wasn't worth paying to amend the existing booking.

I'm pretty sure that the actual cost of the flights is lost - but what about any airport tax and/or the extra we paid for reserved seats?

I've only got an iPaddy here & searching Ryanair's labyrinthine t&c is beyond my patience on the small screen.

All help gratefully accepted here - routine banter on the other threads please ...

SD, from Ryanair's FAQs:

"If you do not travel on your booked flight the air fare, fees and charges are non-refundable but you may apply in writing within one month of the date of travel for a refund of the Government Tax paid. Government tax refunds are subject to an administration fee of £17/€20. If the refund amount is less than the applicable administration fee, no refund will be made."

Mr O'Leary is so generous, I'm sure that the Administration charge is more than the amount of duty paid, but at the same time no mention is made as to whether the charge is per passenger or relates to multiple passengers, which would make it worthwhile if claiming for more than one flight.

Thanks twix - as I suspected it looks like any refund will be 10% of naff all.

I'm not complaining - over the years they've saved me many hundreds of pounds compared with 'full service' airlines, so this is just a quid pro quo (or perhaps a lack of quid pro quo).

I may email them anyway, just for fun :)
