Were I to write my will or have it written for me, would it be legal just to say - I leave everything to.... - or would every little detail, down to the teaspoons have to be written? Ta Muchly...this is a serious question.

On the basis that you will not know now, the assets that you will have when you die, it is usual to first grant any legacies (cash or assets) eg my stamp collection to Joe Bloggs, 500 pounds to the battersea Dogs Home, but then state all the remaining assets, chattels etc to ............

If you are leaving it all to one person (as I am currently) then its perfectly legal.
