Is This Not The Most Morally Bankrupt Thing Ever, Even For Teeresa May?
Teresa May has actually threatened to potentially cease co-operation on security matters with EU member states if she doesn't get her own way to get a trade deal negotiated alongside 'divorce talks' ( which frankly isn't going to happen).
Doesn't showing such panicked fearful posturing already not simply get the back up of every EU member country and weaken our position as it is surely not the actions of a leader of a country to endanger the rest of Europe ( and indeed ourselves) in a vain bid to get her own way, but rather of someone who is morally bankrupt and desperately out of her depth in the international field?

Sorry ain't going to happen, the PM will, quite rightly, use every resource at our disposal. This is just to stop sour grape shenanigans from the EU angry that we are leaving their beloved "project". If both sides are sensible the negotiations should be quick, simple and obvious. The PM is saying "don't mess about", that's all.
Morally bankrupt? No. There’s rather more to it.
Amber Rudd said ““If you look at something like Europol, we are the largest contributor to Europol. So if we left Europol, then we would take our information — THIS IS IN THE LEGISLATION — with us. The fact is, the European partners want us to keep our information there because we keep other European countries safe as well.”

Some things MUST be negotiated. – but why not grasp any opportunity to put the boot in anyway?

So the EU retains the right to threaten us with no facility to conduct trade with member states, but insists that we pay for and maintain our contributions for the safety and security of the zone. If we cannot have trade facilities that are mutually beneficial why would we not focus our defence and security abilities on our own borders and sovereign economic business deals with the rest of the World?
"wouldn't we all be safer if we worked together ? " - yes indeedy so the EU need to do their bit too. Have you ever done a deal in your life mikey? You'd get rogered in 5 minutes if you turn up starting with concessions. It's the same with all this residence business we can't declare our hand in advance but we intend to do the decent thing if our opponent does the same.
