How Do I Get My 16 Year Old Son Removed From The Family Home

My 16 year old son is violent and manipulative and does not care for the wellbeing of his younger brothers. He regularly turns up in the middle of the night stoned. He has hit me (father), threatened to headbut me and burn the house down. Social services have been involved (exacerbated things) as have the police. The police say they cant remove him unless there's somewhere for him to go (no family will have him). I'm at my wits end. Can anyone help as I feel he's a danger to me and his younger brothers who live here too. He also damages property and uses the house as a hotel as and when he likes.

Sorry , it must be a terrible situation but as the police say unless there is a place that will accept him there is nothing you can do .

Where are you - as at 16 he's still classed as a child in Scotland.

Contact social again and refuse to have him in your house, tell them he is a danger to all those in the house. My mother was a foster carer and she cared for several 16 year olds in this situation

If he's a dnager to younger siblings, surely social services should be protecting them. My friend had to have his son taken away for this very reason.

If you could afford it, could you offer to pay for a bedsit as long as he agrees not to come back to the family home?

If as seems the case, no foster carers will have him there is not much anyone can do.

We're in England and his mum and I are separated. She kicked him out around 18 months ago when he moved in with me. She is of the opinion I kick him out and describes him as a psychopath.

Eddie of course there is - no one has said that foster carers will not have him - they have said family members will not have him - entirely different thing!

Fraughtparent - get on the phone to SS and get him removed as soon as possible - SS will step him and find him somewhere to live.
