A coalition of children's charities have claimed that the government have been refusing payouts to child abuse victims since 2012 on the grounds that they "consented" to the abuse.
The Ministry of justice has not denied these claims and has instead insisted that they are reviewing the relevant procedures, in addition to co-operating with the IICA.
Should these victims have received the money or is this yet another sacrifice we have to make to balance the books?
