Commercial Lien

Is there anybody heard of or can tell me of a "UK Commercial Lien" case where an injured party ( such as slandered or being injured by liable) can make a sworn statement of truth ( Affidavit ) present this statement to the party who injured you for their correction, and then you yourself will decide how much money they owe you for causing you injury. This is supposed to be the way a "Commercial Lien" works. Can anyone confirm this, sounds like nonsense to me.

Thanks dannyk13 for your reply. I am aware of the content of that web site. I am looking for any actual cases that have been decided by a court and any legal decisions as the outcome.
