Its been a long time since I was a guest of Her Majesty but my sons mate is currently a guest at the prison in the link above.
1) For how long have homosexual prisoners been given condoms?
2) Does this mean that sexual behaviour in prisons is condoned now?
3) Are heterosexual been discriminated against?

(BTW, my sons mate is bisexual but has never mentioned anything about this when he's phoned...will have to find out more when he's released in a couple of weeks.)

it doesnt seem like a logical conclusion to me. If there were women available for sex in men's prisons but only gay prisoners were given condoms it would be, but as far as i know, that's simply not the case (or mayb there are women available for sex in men's prisons nailit?)

Bednobs, I actually know one ex con who was having it away with his probation officer in prison. They actually got married when he was released. As far as I know they were never caught at it inside or there would have been consequences.

Actually, back in the 90's we had a female chaplain on the wings who I quiet fancied, couldn't get past the dog collar though, even went to chapel once but to no avail :-(

The answer is that homosexual male prisoners are going to have anal sex no matter if condoms are provided or not, and no matter if it is condoned or not. Not providing them would mean spreading AIDS/HIV which would be a serious health risk.
So the argument that it discriminates against those who do not indulge in male on male anal sex ( and who are overwhelmingly straight) is just not valid.
It is a health issue not discrimination.
The argument that porn videos should be provided to straight male prisoners is also specious , by that argument Gay male prisoners should be provided with gay porn.
Same for Lesbian & other female prisoners, should they be provided with vibrators, dildos, strap ons, condoms and porn?
Once you allow that argument it goes much further.
