Unauthorised Parking On My Land
I own a small plot of land close to a small shopping precinct. I rent this out to a high st retailers, for their 5 or 6 staff to use as a car park . Even though there are two "private car park " and one "no unauthorised parking" signs erected, staff from other shops continue to park here , sometimes fill the car park before authorised users arrive for work. . I have warned these people they cannot do this, and before now, blocked these cars in , but wondered how far I can go to stop these nuisance people. Council wont let me fix a gate or barrier

Why don't you fit a large chain with a padlock across the entrance, it's not a gate, doesn't need to open outwards or upwards and would make the land only available to those with a key / combination. that or fit a dropping bollard if they will let you.

///It is a criminal offence to clamp/block/tow away a vehicle on private land without lawful authority. Lawful authority to immobilise or move a vehicle is restricted to a number of organisation such as the police, DVLA and local authorities.///

If you rent the entire plot of land out to the retailer, I would have thought it is their problem, not yours.
However, if you rent individual plots I see your problem.
I would put up some signs stating that it is private property and unauthorised users will be clamped. If that doesnt work, you might want to consider employing a clamping agency for the short term in order to discourage the nuisance parkers.
You *could* issue parking tickets, but probably people will ignore them.
Beware though, this area is an absolute minefield and you will need to ensure you have proper signage etc.

Have been told by council, that a gate cannot be fitted as it would have to be opened outward , onto a private rd, and a barrier cannot be fitted because of trees, that are not on my land. Thought of putting large NO UNAUTHORISED PARKING stickers on their windscreen , blocking them in for hours, even letting their tyres down .
Eddie is right, you mustnt do anything to the cars. Even stickers on a windscreen that cannot easily be peeled off could land you in trouble.
Why not issue permits and do a few mornings at the entrance turning those without permits away. Or you could use those drop down metal posts at the entrance so only those with keys can get in or out.

Have you considered posts and give the Company employees the keys to unlock as they arrive. Bit of an outlay but the Company might contribute, but better than you lose their rent long term if they get fed up.
