Hi, I wonder if somebody could offer me advice? I was recently on a train journey when a group of youths walked past and insulted and threatened me. I was shocked and furious. I followed them and suggested if they liked insulting and threatening people, perhaps we should sort it out - them against me. I also used a threat in response to theirs.
I now feel ashamed of my actions - I just saw red after being harassed for no reason. Should a complaint be made, what is the likely outcome?
I was standing at the side of the road waiting to cross a few months ago and a car drove past with a few young kids in it. One leaned out the window and for no reason at all shouted W**K*R at me. I got all angry and felt I wanted to chase after them but they were in a car. It still annoys me today, but I came to terms with it by thinking HE is the W**K*R not me. Next time just...
If nothing further was said at the time and no violence ensued and you weren't stopped by the police etc etc I suspect nothing will happen...they can't complain as they started it and you only responded in kind...the cctv will show all that.
Hopefully you are right. They insulted/threatened me as they were walking past me - they didnt stop to make a confrontation. Just trying to act like gangsters in front of their girlfriends.
Once I pursued them, after initial bravado they backed down. Annoyed with myself for making a threat back. Hopefully CCTV was working in both carriages if anything comes of it.
don't worry, just proves that, when stood up to, such bullies lose their bravado..if I'd been a fellow passenger I'd have applauded you.. too many mouthy louts just getting away with such behaviour without being pulled up !
I was manhandled by someone on the concourse of Manchester Piccadilly and the station manager can be described as not giving a tass
( visually impaired so I could nt see who it was)
At one point she sang at me - "thank you!" as a yodel.
I demanded CCTV ( data subject request) and had another wrangle over whether I had to fill out the pink form - no pinkie, no CCTV - and won that one ( I didnt - the law specifies a data access request can be made in any form so long as it is clear)
.... and found the intersting bit was obsured by the now removed tea shack. - creating a large blind ( pun intended) area out side the ATMs. I specifically linked the blind area with terrorism and distraction robberies
more screaming got it removed after about a year
( soon after cologne ) and there were clear views just in time for May 22 last year. Do they write to me and say thank you thank you for insisting CCTV views should be clear in case of a terrorist attack?
They do not - they continue not to give a tass.
I ended up giving the CEO of British Rail my views.
He is the author of the catchy "why does everyone hate Netrail?" [no really] so I added a chapter.
Long contribution for - - - - leave it
anyway you dont really want CCTV showing that you were giving them hell and not turning the other cheek, do you?
