You know when a claimant wins the case ie maybe £4,000 as it was today - if the defendant can't pay it - who does pay the claimant.

Same as for Judge Judy

As I understand it the tv company pays.But I may be wrong.
The TV Production company pays all awards.

I don't watch it much ie Rinder but today was very sad as it was a lad who was mugged in the street causing him serious life-changing injuries. He had been a promising scaffolder and the bad guys snapped his leg in two and other terrible injuries. JR asked what the bad guys got - 9 months suspended sentence. The law today is absolutely scandalous. That lad can't work ever again. He got £82,000 and it took 3 years to get to that - and of course he had had £26,000 in benefits - that was taken out his award.
