Voluntary Police Interview
Hi
I have just had a phone call from the police to say they were going to arrest me as my wife has put in a report about my behaviour over the last 18 years. The police have now said I can do a voluntary interview. This report is not true and my wife is trying to make things bad for me. She was arrested 6 weeks ago for abuse on our children. I have now got the children living with me. We are living in temporary accommodation as we were kicked out of the house by my mother in law who owns it. My wife is on bail and can only see our children in a contact centre with supervision. This is done so that her mother can get the children. I am at my wits end. How do I stand is it her word against mine

Despite what Clarion says social services are very reluctant to remove children for their parents. Like others have said, go to the interview but make sure you have a solicitor. And remember, the police have dealt with numerous malicious reports and they can usually tell who's likely to be lying.

I don't know what the report says exactly. Just about me being controlling which is not true and that I have been abusive again not true it is actually the other way round. There will be no evidence as she has never made a police report or ended up in hospital. She is clutching at straws as she has lost our kids.
Seems a strange time of night to be 'called by the Police' and told that you 'were going to be arrested' and then told you 'can do a voluntary interview'. Unless there is something else other than what you say, there is no 'Power of arrest.
Suggest you check with the police although it seems like a hoax.

She was arrested 6 weeks ago for abuse of your children, and now she has reported you because of your behaviour over 18 years? Why has she not reported you earlier? Seeing as you are asking, what is needed is stability for the children. They will be given priority if this goes any further. That stability may just be, that they are put into care. In which case, neither of you will have them. You will probably just be given controlled access.
I did not report her she was on holiday and got drunk the people in next chalet broke in and got children out and reported her. Social took them to hospital for the night to be checked over. I got a phone call in the morning to say what had happened. Kids are now with me. My wife was bailed for a month which has been extended for a further 2 months. As you say why did she not report me sooner
