I put his hand in a swan neck whatever that means , got charged with assault and they had a body cam but apparently at the interview it was not working

It sounds like a 'Category 3' offence to me (based upon the very limited information available to us). That would typically result in a fine equal to one week's take home pay (or £120 if the offender has an income of less than that amount per week).
