Fund Raising Ideas

Hi all you ABers, my workmates and I are starting a Social club, and although we have some ideas for fund raising, I wondered if you can come up with some, ive seen some ideas when a like question has been posted, got those, but anymore would be a bonus.

When I ran the social club at work our main income was the subscription charge (�1 in our case) per month. To get people paying, we'd do a monthly prize draw.

I meant to say: Charge them a �1 each & the winner wins a big cuddly toy, or a large bottle of Brandy, etc. The balance could go in your coffers to whichever charity.

don't know what you already have, but you could start a book club, a craft club and games night - all charging a fee for materials and a bit more for the fund - you could ask local artists and writer is they will come along for a masterclass or do talks.

go to the charity shop and snap up loads of games or ask each member to bring a board games or any other type. you could have a score register and a league.

a film night - just rent a video and screen it

a skills swap shop - entry fee and people arrange swaps or even place bids on things like window cleaning, mow the lawn, whatever people are good at that someone else can't manage

Thanks everyone, some really good ideas, some would be a bit difficult, because of shifts, but we can work round that, i'll take these to the next committee meeting.

Monthly quiz nights are always good earners as long as you keep the questions reasonable. Not too easy or too difficult, otherwise people just get fed up and stay away.
