Is anyone managing to make realistic fakes of the new polymer banknotes?

Have not heard of anyone having any forgeries.

I've not made any, but there has been reports of fake plastic tenners in my area last year.

My latest batch contain a bit too much paper. Just need to get the plastic content right, then should be ok!

I sent a test batch of mine to the money-launderer to see how they hold up to moisture and rough handling.

Yup.
I tried to buy a drink in Wetherspoons with one.....:o(

The Queen's head (printed in white) came off when scratched, other than that it looked pretty darn genuine to me when I received it in my change from a shop round the corner.

Can any plastic note forgeries be detected by UV light? Some of the old paper notes could.

I never check mine so if I inadvertently pass one on I don't feel guilty.

No. It was handed back to me with an explanation of why it was an obvious firgery..... I took it home and took the scissors to it to make sure beither we nor anyone else would be fooled by it again.
However, I *always* scratch my nail across the Queen's head on notes I receive in my change now.
