My daughter is just taking over a hairdressing business. She has just designed her shop front sign. On the sign she has put find me on Facebook along with the Facebook logo. A friend has told her Facebook might charge her for using their logo. Is this true.

lawful in the US under the Lanham Act ....
With any logo you need to check with the company as there are rules about positioning etc.

eg. my works logo comes in various formats - black, full colour and white. You can't use the full colour version on a coloured/complicated background. You can't change the colour or alter the logo in any way.

Some firms stipulate a minium size for their logo. Some even stipulate how much space must be left around the logo.

You also need to get a print quality version - taking it from a website will result in a poor quality, as web images are just at screen resolution, not print resolution.

Resolution also matters when producing the artwork for the sign - is she supplying the artwork to the sigmakers, or just giving them the design for them to create the sign?
