McDonnell thinks it's OK to force private landlords to sell to tenants.

A dyed in the wool communist.
He's a commie & a much greater threat to this country than Corbyn will ever be.
Well Thatcher sold off public housing without our permission in the past. He thinks that means he can force the private sector to sell also. Presumably both are related to trying to buy votes. After all, if seen as one of the antidemocratic parties, one must be desperate to get votes from wherever one can. And once a precedent has been set...

Well, it must be true if it's in the Daily Outrage! I don't think it's the people he dislikes. It's the system that allows these things to happen. That system is immigration. The govt need to spend money on curbing immigration, then we wouldn't have problems with housing, the NHS, education, police shortages etc. The nob with the gob (Boris) is promising to spend the money in the wrong area.
Having been a landlord and letting at below market rent rates plus always trying to tailor conditions to individual tenants' needs as much as possible for over 35 years, and observing how after apparently good/very good relations the "true" attitude toward me too often reveals itself as their chosen departure date approaches, it is my conclusion that very few have any sympathy for landlords. "This bloke" is simply adjusting himself to what he thinks will garner him the most votes from his target constituency - exactly as other well known politicians are doing and thereby also appearing as frightening/dangerous/insincere/ridiculous/repugnant.
it's the socialist way, prosperity is evil.

Gromit - "He’s a dyed in the wool Thatcherite."

That just simply is untrue.

There's a yawning chasm of a difference between Thatcher allowing council tenants the right to buy houses that were owned by the state, to McDonnell's right to buy from private landlords.
Hardly. The only difference is between public and private sectors. And selling is easily avoided. Just leave the properties empty, as apparently is being actively encouraged. Possibly because then councils can steal (and it clearly is stealing in any normal definition even if it's legal for government to mug folk by applying unfair tax hikes on select groups) from the owners by doubling the council tax.
Labour’s ‘One Size Fits All’ world: Aspiration bad – achievement evil.
Lie and bore...The circus party of fools that just keeps on giving...bless 'em all.....
‘The only difference is between public and private sectors’

That’s a pretty bloody big difference!

Labour’s supporters mainly live in deprived urban areas. This is just a vote grabbing / securing tactic.
I'm not sure the people who would vote for a Commie like him would afford even a cut down price.

If McDonnell thinks this will al just work out without having a massive impact on the economy then he is a bigger fool than I thought he was.

OG, serious question: Are you a communist sympathiser or have I misread your posts?

I think you've got it in one YMB.
Never managed it
Like Karl - I maintain housing stock for a certain market

and no tenant has managed to get a valuation, fix up a mortgage and make an offer ( in any order ) . Obviously it depends on the price
