I am due to pay my holiday deposit by monday, for a caravan holiday by the coast, because of the uncertainty, at the moment do you think a caravan holiday will be cancelled, like many hotel holidays I have heard about. I cannot get through on the phone to them at the moment, and I suppose they will just say it's up to you, because they will want my money.
We have booked a cottage in Scotland for the 2nd week in May. Paid it all up a couple of weeks ago. As we are both in the 'at risk' category, we have been in touch and been offered either a refund (because government policy forces our hand) or an extension for up to a year. We decided a couple of hours ago to ask for the refund; because if we said we would go in September instead there is still no guarantee that we would not find ourselves restricted if this all continues longer than currently foreseen. Hope this helps.
If it was me, I wouldn’t pay and wouldn’t go.
When all of this is, hopefully, over then we can all get back to some kind of normal, but I do feel at the moment it’s not worth taking the risk of losing the money.
