Thanks woof
I think you asked before. Your role was simply to be informed that POA has been applied for. It's a kind of "backstop" so that if (for example) the daughter was devious and activated the POA for nefarious reason, someone outside the immediate situ could ask questions. This is clearly not the case here, and as it was registered 6 years ago, it's probably too late to complain to the OPG about it anyway. Nothing further for you to do
just re-read and yes, you had 3 weeks to object. As that was 6 years ago, it's a bit late!
In this particular case, I can't see any reason you would have objected anyway

Blimey you've a good memory Bednobs , I can't remember if I had or not and I've just brought the letter back out as the diagnosis is pretty bad

Thanks for that link Sharon, appreciated
Question Author
I know about the objecting bit( I wouldn't of anyway) just wanting my role if any, clarified
Bednobs is right. You were just someone they wanted notifying. You need do nothing.

the link is not useful to you (sorry Sharon! I don't mean that in a mean way) as you are not an attorney, and any involvement you had in the process was over 6 years ago
Question Author
Mmmm, wonder why?
Thank you BM
you wonder why what? if it's why you were named as a person to be informed, you'd have to ask your friend.
Question Author
That would not be a good idea right now
Curious, that's all
well, I guess for the reasons above: they didn't name you as an attorney (presumably because you are more experienced in life than your daughter) and there was more likely hood she would be around when an attorney was needed but they did want you to know the POA had been registered. Even though your friend is terminally ill, the attorneys might never need to do anything anyway
you havent asked - -- but
you do realised that your powers of attorney end on their death dont you?
so it is NOT a substitute - - ter daah - for a will
hey pp, you always moan about people answering questions that haven't been asked!
