I've always been fit all my life if even up to 4 years ago I could run 10 miles a day plus
weight lifting everyday
my job was very very hard physically demanding an advanced scaffolder on one house with two men we could lift 5 tonne of steel per day ,everyday ,minimum.
I have not worked in about a year I have been addicted to cocaine and drinking and my health has deteriorated but last week I started work and I could not even stick one day my feet felt as if they were broke as soon as I get out of the car in the morning my back was the same I could not lift any steel or boards up up.the whole week I was terribly demanding and I was ready to go home after only one day i had had enough, my friends tell me it's just getting old but my hips are always sore especially in winter I suffer from bad gout so I'm wondering do I have some type of arthritis or osteoporosis.
Even prior to starting work last week when I was getting out of bed in the morning it took about half an hour to break my feet in on my legs I was like an old age pensioner at 90 years old walking into the kitchen to grab a coffee it was terrible, is this old age is this what everyone goes through in midlife or could I have some form of bone disease or something just let me know your experience please
I am quite aware that I can Google anything and I am also quite a where I can go to my doctor and get tested but I just wanted them get other people's opinions and experiences what they have went through and how old they were when they started getting symptoms of such illnesses such as osteoporosis etc etc

Six years ago you complained of severe hip pain making it difficult to walk and said at the time you used to run on a treadmill five miles a day up until the previous year. I find it hard to believe you were running 10 miles a day last year. You have also been extremely overweight which puts a lot of strain on your hips, knees, ankles and feet. You have had a terrible diet for a long time which impacts on your bones.
With all your ongoing health problems, your addictions and other difficulties you really should go back to your GP.

This is how I started with Rheumatoid Arthritis, I was a 50 something very fit with a demanding outdoor job and within 8 weeks could not walk without a stick. I suggest you tell your GP about your symptoms and you can get a blood test which will show your Rheumatoid Factor (google it). RA is not a disease of old age it is a disease which affects your immune system and can affect any age even children.
I concur with all the above but I'll also point out that not all conditions are irreversible.
A few weeks ago I was struggling to walk from a supermarket car park to the store. I thought "If this is what life is going to be like from now on, I'd better find out how to get a disabled badge". However a visit to my GP got me some medication and a fortnight ago I managed a 1 mile walk. Last week I managed a 3.5 mile walk and I hope that I'll gradually be able to get back to my former fitness.
So let the medics do their job and see what improvement is possible.
