Based on what you told us I think it would have been a mistake. It could also have increased the possibility of your neighbours launching a civil claim against you.
No, it's not a victory I agree. These things never are. But I think you would have suffered a defeat if you had accepted the order.

I am glad its sorted. It mut have been horrible for you anyway but unbearable at this time. My bully neighbours have moved away now but my pleasure, once it had been sorted, was to be unfailingly friendly and polite when I saw them, always smiled and waved as I drove past if they were out gardening. I never said a bad word about them to anybody except the police and the council and I stuck to the facts. If anybody commented to me about their behaviour all I ever said was how sad it was when neighbours couldn't get along. You and I are not them.
I am glad that the legal stuff is not going to be a worry for you and your family.
I have always found that being nice to nasty people is the best policy. She sounds like a bit of a lady-dog and it will not only be you that she is at war with.
How is your pup doing? Was he traumatised by the unfounded allegation?

Lol Susan I keep referring to him as "you vicious brute" when he's licking me or snuggling up. He does not seem too traumatised. Unfortunately the cool indifference did not last long. We moved one of our trees today and it's now near the boundary with them. She was hanging out of her window filming us.
