Can My (Italian Citizenship With Rtw In The Uk) Girlfriend Claim Universal Credit?
Hi there, my girlfriend is an Italian Citizen but has right to work and reside in the UK. She moved over at the end of last year, is actively looking for work and just moved into a new place with me as a second tenant. Can she claim universal credit providing my income (soul household income) is below a certain level?

Remember though that, as long as you are totally truthful when you complete the form, anyone at all is entitled to apply for any benefit. The worst that can happen is that you'll be turned down. (i.e. A multi-billionaire, like Richard Branson. is perfectly entitled to apply for Universal Credit. He wouldn't get it but he couldn't be prosecuted for making a fraudulent application as long as he'd answered all the questions honestly). So the golden rule is always "IF IN DOUBT, APPLY ANYWAY!" You've got nothing to lose ;-)
