Removal Of Someone Else's Belongings From My Property

Hello. If someone has left their belongings on my property and I have written a letter which I know they have recieved, asking them to remove them and given them a deadline of 3 months. Is it OK that this letter goes from me to them and not from a solicitor?

You don't need to use a solicitor but you need to make sure that you comply with the provisions of Section 12 of the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977:

Thank you Buenchico, the letter was drafted by a solicitor friend but was just sent from home owner to previous occupier. The previous occupier is stating that the letter is not valid as it does not have a solicitors letter head
