Parking Con Job Or Not?
6 Answers
My wife disputes a parking fine by Britannia parking. She was informed on the back of the fine that if she disagreed, to appeal. It stated do not pay the £60 until after the appeals decision.
We heard nothing until today. A legal firm now says we owe £160. We had no notice of appeal rejection, no letter, no email. They did not respond to my wife’s emails. The phone is permanently engaged. The legal company said ‘take it up with your carrier if you didn’t get the letter’
The sharks are circling, my wife is distressed as she actually paid for the ticket but couldn’t find it three weeks later. My question is why were we not informed that her appeal failed, giving us the option to pay £100. Now with legal company in cahoots it’s £160. Take It up with my carrier! Hey Royal Mail, you lost a letter somewhere in the last month. Cop out.

Its a con for sure just one of many, and so frustrating. They know full well you can't prove anything and even if you tried it would be stressful and more than likely more expensive to do so. People are sick to death of being conned /ripped off. My only advice is do what I always do ( without fail) if you use any car park, drop the ticket in your glove box, and leave them...

People are sick to death of being conned /ripped off. My only advice is do what I always do ( without fail) if you use any car park, drop the ticket in your glove box, and leave them there for at least 3/6 months. Its not something that you think of doing at the time, but just try getting into the habit.
