One example of a perfectly nice looking and healthy young woman going to extreme lengths to change her face and body and paying the price

Yes, she asked for the surgery, I'm sure she was advised of the risks before each procedure. She probably signed waivers and disclaimers but there must be a point when a surgeon says 'no'.

I have no understanding of what compels anyone to go to such extreme lengths to look different; I can't imagine what they are thinking when they look in the mirror but I feel sorry for them.

Body dysmorphia? I can't think of anything else that would compel a person to pay for such a distorted body. She states/complains that she's in constant pain, and may not be able to walk again...yet is still driven to make parts of her body bigger. For what? Certainly not for body confidence or meaningful relationships.
Yes, I do think the plastic surgeons who do this have a lot to answer for. Though the article does state that she was refused some procedures so got them illegally. It's really sad.
On the odd occasion I’ve had to suffer watching one of these programmes about plastic surgery it’s usually glaringly obvious that the patient needs a psychiatric referral, not surgical enhancement.

pasta has got straight to the point, if a qualified surgeon refuses to do it then it is likely that she will go to somebody less qualified or even not qualified at all.

Quite a dilemma for the surgeon and providing she has signed a consent form explaining the pros and cons, then no, the surgeon should not be prosecuted.
I would have thought that she should have had an appointment with the Psychologist prior to surgery being given the go-ahead - that's the procedure that bariatric patients have to go through so why not in this case?
If you go private and not through the NHS you do not have to see a therapist
She ought to have been sectioned long ago - for her own safety. She is absolutely grotesque. "People will think i am just trying to get attention." No, dear, you have already captured the attention of everyone around you by your appearance. A mobility scooter won't add to that attention.
Maybe social services should be prosecuted for letting the bewildered stroll about the place unchecked.

If she doesn't need supervision thenwhatever happens is on her.

In the end you have to take responsibility for your actions and not blame the world.
She had the procedures done in Columbia
I feel really sorry for her and people like her who just ruin themselves and think they are improving themselves.
It's obviously some form of mental illness.
she's a Canadian living in California; no point invoking British law or procedures.
Why would anyone wan the fattest Vagina?

Her backside and boobs are bigger than mine and I am very overweight. She was very pretty before all the operations started.

Highest murder rate amonst doctors?
no not Shipman, silly - the other way around. Patients butchering the doctors. One per patient. Clearly a patients as a medical mass murderer is a stretch....( stretch - - geddit? pun intended)

Psychs and Plastic Surgeons - you may not like the result - but the paying patient likes it - - - even less. The answer is - - the KNIFE in a the patients hands needless to say.
I agree Wolf, you don't want the inexpert fannying around down there.
"Why would anyone want the fattest vagina?
