I came across this on Facebook (link shows screendump) https://ibb.co/GtmFwbK and was gobsmacked at some of the figures. I wasn’t even aware of the microwave filter.

The origin is Facebook User SimplisticallyLiving https://www.facebook.com/SimplisticallyLiving/about

I don’t know anything about it, but in my cynical view it just might be marketing-backed.

In case you have trouble with any of the links, here is the list of items, and how frequently they should be replaced. (Needless to say, I’m well over the limits with most items, and have no intention of changing.)

I am posting this in Chatterbank to reflect my disdain for the “advice” ;-)

LOL @ Baz
Why would you throw away sheets after two years? They are only just run in then.
I keep things until they can't be repaired, I have bed linen that is over 20 years old, bath towels about the same. good quality lasts. However I tend to buy cheaper duvets and replace then after 3-4 washes ( I have a large washing machine)
What's the view on husbands?!
Dave hope you don't keep your toilet brush for 20 yrs!
Dumped the first one irreparable fault wrong software... Second one broke, couldn't be fixed time to shop for another one...
Barmaid, when a younger model comes along.
just put them on the lawn and give them a good Karcher, then put them back to work.

Applies to kids up chimneys too, though I don't know about Mr BM.
I use good quality, thick pillow protectors and my pillows look like new. I only change them when they cease to be comfortable, then they get donated to the local animal rescue charity.
I've ordered a new TV this afternoon.
Nothing wrong with the old one, I just wanted a bigger one.
i put my bath matt in the washing machine about once a week i suspect if you dont do that then yes throw it out after a year but if you wash it then it might last you ten year
Not using fabric conditioner helps. My bath mats are also over 10 years old, I just 're dye them when I redecorate.
I don't use bathmats, I use old towels.

We're all supposed to be making things last longer.

No - I buy cheap ones from Wilko, under £1 each I think.
