hope somewhere out the can help me.
To cut a long story short, i need to renew my old fashioned paper driving licence for one with a photo. My concern is that i live in Spain, so all my post goes to a friends address. the point im trying to make is in the application form they ask for your current uk address. Would i breaking the law if i put down my friends address?
tia
off to bed now, ill check your answers tomorrow.

[s.174(1)(a), Road Traffic Act 1988]
I think everyone is missing the point! My objective isnt to get something by false means!
Btw i was born in the uk and spent almost 50 years of my life there.
"My objective isnt to get something by false means!"
Clearly it is since you've gone further than failing to notify a change of address, you've deliberately given false information to the DVLA by using another person's address.
Why all this who ha?
For the record i haven't driven a car now for over 30 years! So no i don't intend to drive in Spain.
If it's going to be such a palaver and will involve jumping over a 1000 hurdles, then ill give it a miss!
It's just that the pink paper licence in my opinion doesn't look very good, in fact it doesn't look like a real licence. Yes I shudve done this year's ago!!!
you are required by law to provide your domiciliary address. Whether or not you are entitled to a UK licence I do not know. what I do know is a friend of mine was fined £100 and 3pts awarded for providing an address that he did not live at. was discovered when stopped by police
//...but it wouldn't surprise me if you're not both guilty of conspiring to pervert the course of justice//
What justice would he be conspiring to pervert (and who would he be conspiring with)?
Many people have more than one address. So long as they can be contacted easily via the address provided I see no problem. Problems arise when people insure vehicles providing a different address to where it's normally kept (to reduce the premium) but that isn't an issue here.
